Be Girl works for a world where menstruation is considered beautiful and being a girl does not stand in the way of opportunities, health, and success. Due to cultural and social norms, discussions about menstruation are considered inappropriate as a result, they resort to using unhygienic materials which can lead to infection and health complications addressing these barriers requires comprehensive education and initiatives to break the stigma, and promote access to menstrual products.
Be girl advocates for a society where menstrual health is widely recognized as a fundamental right and very individual has access to information and product choices to own their body and menstruation with confidence can make a big difference in the lives of women and that is what be girl is all about despite constituting 48% (un women Pakistan, 2023) of the population, a majority of Pakistani women are deprived of the right to embrace there womanhood confidently.
Like is other their world countries menstrual poverty exists In Pakistan, referring to a lack of access to essential sanitary products menstrual hygiene education, and effective waste management solutions. We believe that Pakistani women deserve the same comfort as women in developed countries therefore we are entering Pakistan with our partner ARA International to introduce sustainable and cost-effective products so that Pakistani girls and women can pursue their dreams.
